The College currently has several opportunities for Fellows to participate in activities. The following descriptions are provided to
familiarize our membership with their functions..
Circuit Credentials Committees
The Circuit Credentials Committee has proved to be a vital part of the College's nomination
process. Job requirements are limited to a six to eight week period beginning March 1st of each year handling all due diligence on
candidates from a particular circuit. Committees then set forth their recommendations with respect to these candidates which are reviewed
by the Board of Governors for final determination. Every effort is made to maintain a balanced representation of the various disciplines on each
circuit committee, as well as a balanced geographical spread. As we continue to grow, state credentials committees will probably become more likely.
Lecture Committee
The Lecture Series is developing into a high point in the College's list of accomplishments
and activities. Since 1999, the College has sponsored an annual lecture by a prominent speaker. Past speakers include the Honorable Abner Mikva, former Chief Judge, US Court of
Appeals for the District of Columbia and Counsel to President; US Appeals Court Judge for the Seventh Circuit, Richard Posner; Professor Theodore St. Antione, a former President of
the National Academy of Arbitration and Arnold Weber, President Emeritus of Northwestern University.
Members of this committee are responsible for planning the initial phases of the yearly lecture
, helping to secure a speaker and generate publicity and attendance at this sprintime event.

Video History Committee
The College began work on this major project with the idea of preserving and perpetuating the
history of significant events in the field of labor and employment law through the medium of videotape. A Steering Committee, already in place, has overall responsibility for directing the
project and selecting initial historical events. It is envisioned that each video will have its own editorial board. These editorial boards will provide a substantial opportunity for Fellows to
make real contributions and will have substantive responsibility for development of particular programs. This would include identifying the participants, producing the script (i.e., a topic
outline to guide participants) and developing a reading list or written materials to accompany the program. We will also recruit a fund-raising committee to conduct the overall effort, as
well as utilizing individual editorial boards to aid in soliciting support for particular programs.
Newsletter Committee
The intent of the newsletter committee is to create an impressive publication which Fellows
will read with interest, providing articles of substance and importance. With a target publication of four issues a year, the newsletter committee looks for Fellows to assist mainly
as regular contributors. In addition, it is strongly encouraged that the individual accomplishments, honors and achievements of all Fellows be submitted for publication.
Induction Dinner Mentor Program
This program pairs up Fellows with new inductees at the Annual Induction Dinner. In many
cases, nominating Fellows are unable to be present at the induction ceremony to greet their nominee. In an effort to help new inductees become acquainted with the organization, this
group of Fellows would make contact with a designated group of inductees prior to the dinner, and then make plans to greet and introduce them at the annual ceremony.
We encourage all Fellows to volunteer for any of the various committees. If you have not
done so already, please notify Susan Wan in the Washington office of your interest.
